Writing Music: I’ll Make a Man Out of You

It’s the first week of Camp NaNoWriMo and if, like me, you’re taking on this great challenge, it’s time to buckle down and get to work piling those words up. This is the perfect time to be getting ahead on your daily word count while the first excitement is still there. If you’re not doing Camp NaNoWriMo, sometimes you just need that little push to lift your writing game and stir the enthusiasm for writing again. With this thought in mind, this week’s writing music is the Disney song I’ll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan.

To me, this is the perfect song to stir that writing motivation and to make me want to pour some words onto the page. It screams “Let’s get down to writing. What are you waiting for?” I never listen to this music without wanting to be productive. If you’re looking for a piece of music to get you in the mood for working on your novel, why not give this song a listen?

Are you doing Camp NaNoWriMo? What are you listening to today? What’s your favourite Disney song? What gets you in the mood to write?

  4. I freaking love this song, hell I love the whole Mulan soundtrack. But this is one of those songs that I can hear the first note and start to grin then take a breath and start to belt it out. Perfect to kick off a writing session if I need to shake off the cobwebs a bit.

    1. The first notes never fail to bring a smile to my face. It certainly does get rid of the cobwebs and bring that surge of energy, doesn't it? I'm so glad I picked a song you liked.
