Writing Music: Kingdom Dance

I have a few go-to soundtracks for listening to when I’m writing. One of my particular favourites is the soundtrack to Tangled. Most of the music is perfect either for inspiration, or for writing to. The instrumental pieces are especially good for listening during a focused writing session. Out of the entire soundtrack, my favourite piece is definitely Kingdom Dance. It’s so light-hearted and cheerful that it’s guaranteed to brighten any writing session.

Kingdom Dance is a very lively piece of music and would suit a scene of everyday life or a happy event. This song would also be very good for a moment of exciting discovery, such as exploring a new place, or just a moment of excitement for a character. Plus, the fact that it’s such a happy piece makes it the perfect piece to listen to in this the second week of Camp NaNoWriMo, or when you’re having a little bit of a writing slump. By this time in Camp NaNoWriMo, the week two blues have generally started and it might be getting a bit harder to sit down and write. This piece often helps me find that enthusiasm for writing again.

What’s your favourite soundtrack to listen to? What piece of music helps you get out of a writing slump? What’s in your playlist this week?

    1. Thank you Caaleros. I often feel like dancing when I listen to this too. Of course I'm terrible at dancing, so I generally don't, but I do a pretty epic dance in my head!

  3. I love this track, I have actually danced several times to this - mostly involves very rapid spinning and twirls and whatnot :P Best done when no one else is about of course...

    1. Oh yes, the dancing is generally best done in private, unless you're not self-conscious or very good at dancing (neither of which describes me.) The twirls just suit this song perfectly.
