Writing Music: Christmas Collection
21:48Throughout the year, I’ve been sharing my favourite music
that I like writing to, and getting some amazing suggestions back from you, my
wonderful readers. Today’s writing music post is the last of the year, and in
honour of Christmas being so close, I thought I would share not one but three of
my favourite Christmas songs. But I’d also like to hear from you. Which
Christmas songs do you like? Leave me a link in the comments below!
This video is from my favourite acappella singer, Peter Hollens.
Not only is it a beautiful song, but it has a special attraction for me as I
too sing a fair amount of acappella music over Christmas.
If you like violin music, you might like this beautiful violin duet version of Silent Night by the ever talented Taylor Davis. I discovered this piece last year, and it's one of the best versions I've heard.
The Piano Guys' Angels We Have Heard on High is simply fun. Four men, one piano, and a heap of Christmasy fun. This is a firm favourite with me and my sisters.

I love every single one of those pieces! Those musician all ROCK!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I would suggest the Celtic Woman for good Christmas music. They normally have some great stuff. (check out their carol of the bells).
Ooh, I really should check out the Celtic Woman then. I'm pretty sure I've heard a little bit of them in the past, but not much. This is me, disappearing to YouTube to look them up. Thanks for the recommendation and thanks for stopping to listen to my favourite songs.
DeleteThank you SO much for this! I'm definitely listening to these while I write :)

Thank you for stopping to listen to them. Hopefully they help you get into the Christmas mood, or help you with your writing.
DeleteAw, this was great! I haven't really listened to much Christmassy music this year except hear Mariah Carey played in the stores. I loved The Piano Guys, I'm sure I've come across them before. So talented. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIf you like the Piano Guys, you should check out their latest piece, a collaboration version of 'Angels We Have Heard on High.' That is my new favourite Christmas piece. Thanks for stopping to share my favourite pieces.
