Writing Music: Creating the Mood

17:57

When I have a lot of writing or study to do, I know it’s time to break out the motivating music. And when that happens, I generally turn to not one piece, but to a whole playlist of positive music that creates the perfect mood for working in. My go to playlist for these situations is a mix of positive, reflective, gentle music, which was put together by the amazing Leah from SoundFuel. If you’re looking for a playlist to suit a certain mood, you should definitely check out her blog. She has mixes for villains, for sad scenes, for fantasy, and even for steam punk.

What I like most about this playlist in particular is how peaceful it is. The pieces are all different, but together they create a calm mood that is perfect for settling down to work in. Some of my favourites from this list are: Spiegel im Spiegel, Wedding Vows, and Marred Legacy are three of my absolute favourites. If you need music to create the right mood to get working in, you should definitely give this playlist a listen.

You can find the entire list here

Do you have a go-to playlist when you need to work? What is your favourite piece from this playlist? What are you listening to this week?

    1. I'm glad you like it. Honestly, I was listening to this playlist on endless repeat this week while I was ploughing through massive assignments. It's the best background music for studying too, and writing too.

Thank you! I'm so honoured you chose to award me. I would love to do it, and will hopefully post my answers in the next couple of weeks. I love the questions you thought up.

  2. This is wonderful. So gentle and peaceful!
I don't have a go-to playlist, because I normally pick a track depending on how I'm feeling and what I'm writing. Thanks for mentioning Soundfuel, I will definately check that out. I'm probably gonna have this song on repeat and write a happy 'everybody-althogether' scene for my novel, now. =D Great post!

    1. I can relate to that. Sometimes I just put one song on endless repeat that suits either how I'm feeling, or what I'm doing. If you're looking for epic writing music for all occasions, Soundfuel is definitely the place to go. I listen to the music there all the time when I don't quite know what I'd like to listen to from my own playlists.

    1. It truly is. This playlist got me through a large essay and a poetry portfolio this week, so I can attest to the study-ability of it (that should totally be a word). Go homeschoolers! (I was homeschooled too).
